SAP Calculations...

SCT Energy Assessments are accredited as an Authorised Surveyor and Assessor, which demonstrates competence to calculate energy ratings under the Governments Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP). This status is deemed ‘competent person’ for the purposes of the 2005 Building Regulations.

The SAP procedure is required to prove compliance with Requirement L1 of Schedule 1 of the Building Regulations for new dwellings by calculating that the predicted rate of CO2 emissions (the Dwelling Emission Rate - DER) will not be greater than the Target Emission Rate (TER). Upon completion the as built dwelling is then re-checked and an Energy Performance Certificate issued.
